Pros and Cons
Before you go out and purchase a product, you must take a close look at the pros and cons in order to make sure it is the best product for you. With the Elec security system, there are both advantages and disadvantages.
Looking at the Cameras
The 600TVL resolution camera may look great for zoomed out images and, with minimal difference in comparison to 800TVL (720p) or 1080p, but when zoomed in, the images tend to become pixelated and unclear. If you are a consumer seeking images with exceptionally high detail, this product would not suit you, on the other hand, it would be ideal for small house or shop owners whom require general surveillance.
An 18m cable is provided for each camera, but as there is only one power supply for the cameras, this may be a hassle for consumers needing surveillance of large areas. It may be best to opt out and go for wireless cameras in that sense.
The night vision on the other hand is an additional plus for all consumers and provides a clear image up to 15’.
Second on the list is the DVR. Remote access via Internet and/or a 3G smartphone is a definite positive. The H.264 video compression technology is the most widely used and can be incorporated into MP4 or 3GP for phones. The only drawback would be the additional cost of purchasing a hard drive for storage. The recommended hard drive is the Seagate, SATA2, 3.5”, 500GB-1TB MAX internal HDD.
Last but not least is the customer support. ELEC provides a 24/7 U.S.A. local technical support, which is great for those installation and operational problems.
Honest Review and Opinion
In all honesty, I believe this product is a great buy if you are a small shop owner or would like to set a surveillance system up in your home. Looking at reviews on the Internet, I see individuals who are happy that they were able to install the cameras themselves, so the installation is obviously simple. Plus, the price is really good for something like this.
